Sorry if you don't agree with it, but that is the case. You can also exercise while fasting, I tend the work out right before my fast ends. ![]() IF has other benefits than just weight loss, though. Keep in mind that any form of calorie restriction will cause weight loss. If you do IF correctly, you will lose weight. I chew xylitol gum while fasting because it tastes good and has negligible calories, plus it helps clean your teeth. The primary objective of this is to prevent an insulin response. You can have things like black coffee, unsweetened tea, and even very small amounts of healthy fats like walnuts. With IF, you have to abstain from eating ANY calories during the fasting period. Limit intake to 6 hours per day if you can. You want to limit the amount of high glycemic foods because when you take in high glycemic foods your body can easily use them as energy, which in turn prevents your body from burning fat stores. Limit carbs and eat healthy fats like salmon, tuna, walnuts, almonds, olives, avocados, etc. I really don't think it is easier for a chris pratt than for myself.
